TMSCA State

I know it's early, but I'm so excited for this competition!!!! I hope I will be able to go, and it seems likely. I have my goals set, which I will tell soon, but I want to ask: Who is attending this meet and what are your goals? It's in San Antonio I believe, it's separated by grade and conference, and only has NS/MA/CA/SC. It's the last meet (1 week before) District! For me, it's the second weekend of Spring Break, which I'd be glad to sacrifice for TMSCA State.

Goals:
#1 NS, likely 346+. Tough, because I haven't broken 300 in a competition yet. However, I feel TMSCA tests are easier (I got a 355 in practice on the State test, and averaged around 335-340 or so through all 13 + State tests.) Gotta escape the choke factor that is killing me. FOCUS!!!

Math - I have no idea what to expect, but I will definitely work on this, especially during Spring Break. Take plenty of tests, review them all, then learn as much and memorize everything I can. I think I can place (a 250-260, maybe a 270-280 might be required), but I want to break 300 and get top 3 or so. If I can, #1, but I've got plenty of work to do to get there.

Calculator - If I keep practicing, maybe I can place and get pretty high. I haev to memorize everything, improve HP accuracy, stop looking at the keyboard when typing, and learn how to do all the geom/stated, along with the study guide. This won't be easy, but It'll be worth it.

Science - If I have enough time, I will study hard, reading Bio (can knock out AP studying as well) and learning how to do all the chem/physics formulas. I think that I might have a chance of really doing well in this event, since I take all three (AP Bio, P-AP Chem/Phys), and am one of the top Science students in the school (at least in my grade).

Ultimate goal: Become Top Gun!!!!
That would be incredible, something that would boost my confidence for District, and would be an excellent reward for all the hard work I would've put in. It won't be easy, but I think it might be possible.

That's disappointing... I wouldn't be going if it weren't for people here, because this forum is what motivated me to tell my coach about it, and push the idea, to get him to take some of us. Now that one of our Invitationals was canceled, there is a good chance that we can go to TMSCA State (which is an Invitational but really feels like something else, something much more important and competitive) to make up for it (too bad for the Current Events, Journalism, Spelling, Accounting, Social Studies, etc. teams :p). We should also have enough money because we have canceled the meet mentioned above. Hopefully my school can go and give us a reason to go next year! I am really pushing myself to dominate in TMSCA State, and will improve in NS, do my best to become a force in Math, become fairly good at Calculator, and study some Science, and hopefully I can place (or even #1?? Probably not, but it's possible), in each event (not #1 in each event, maybe one or two), and get top gun!
