Well, you just have to have it in you. I used to play my PS3 very often, but I told myself I would stop, and it hasn't been played for like a month and a half, in favor or UIL and grades, mostly. Now, I've practiced more UIL than ever, my scores have risen, and my GPA has risen every six weeks this year.
I told myself that these things are a waste of time, and stopped doing them. It takes some getting used to, but it feels good to say I haven't played for that long. Even when I have free time, I refuse to play.
Same goes for Youtube and other time-wasters (although I waste time on FB daily), you just have to shut them off. Sleep sometimes is hard to come by for me, so I take a nap when I get home from school, sometimes. Come up with a strategy, and stick to it. It really depends on the person, so I can't get too specific.
