How to get motivated to do work?

Postby BlasianAsian » Thu Mar 01, 2012 6:06 pm

Sometimes I just get that feeling of fatness and I do nothing. Waste 2 hours watching random youtube videos. IDK. I just feel so tired all the time. Is there any cure to this, like maybe some motivation to do work? The only motivation I find these days is when a project or a ton of HW is due tommorrow, and I'm working my butt off to finish everything before my godforsaken curfew. Sigh... this is depressing.

For shame. D:< And you call yourself an Asian.
Haha, jk. What I meant to say was, maybe you should *reward* yourself with watching Youtube.... I know this sounds like such an elementary school technique, but I personally like to finish my homework, then slack off the rest of the day/week/month/year. Think of it like that.

Lol. I do that. Except I do it every hour of every day. I just feel...dead.

Well, you just have to have it in you. I used to play my PS3 very often, but I told myself I would stop, and it hasn't been played for like a month and a half, in favor or UIL and grades, mostly. Now, I've practiced more UIL than ever, my scores have risen, and my GPA has risen every six weeks this year.
I told myself that these things are a waste of time, and stopped doing them. It takes some getting used to, but it feels good to say I haven't played for that long. Even when I have free time, I refuse to play.
Same goes for Youtube and other time-wasters (although I waste time on FB daily), you just have to shut them off. Sleep sometimes is hard to come by for me, so I take a nap when I get home from school, sometimes. Come up with a strategy, and stick to it. It really depends on the person, so I can't get too specific.
