You are the O'connor coach right? It was a pleasure to proofread the tests with you. So what did he say about the eccentricity of hyperbola/ellipse problem? I also feel that there are quite a few incomplete sentences on the math test...

TMSCA State was great! That was the first year we went, and I did surprisingly well (or everyone did surprisingly worse than I expected). Hopefully we can go in the next years as well, with better teams.
Was Capybara the announcer of the 5A awards? Nice to meet the Dulles coach :D, My coach talked to a Dulles coach as well, and I got a shout-out: "Hi NSguy!" on the back on my Science answer sheet. That was pretty funny, when my teammates saw that as my coach handed out the tests. Also, the announcer confused my school (Science and Engineering Magnet) with another school (Science Academy) during the second half of the ceremony, but I think that was because the name of the school was cut off, so that was pretty funny, with no harm done (besides the Science Academy people thinking I was an impostor or something.)
Pronouncing Kuprasertkul was quite a challenge, wasn't it?
The ceremony was basically Dulles-Clements-Dulles-Clements-Dulles-Klein-Clements-Dulles-Science Academy - Keller - Dulles - Dulles - Dulles - Clements - ...
I got back around 11:00, so a long drive home. I'm still tired, as I only got 4 hours of sleep the night before competition (what a failure in time management!)
I was so exhausted during football, I could go like one play a drive, get an interception or long touchdown, then walk the rest of the plays. As my friend said, "Numbers make sense, running doesn't."
I think we got 6th overall as a school, and we only brought 16. I made some dumb mistakes, and should we wait until after the tests are posted to start topics on the TMSCA State tests? I wouldn't want to spoil anything for those that could not attend.
And yes, I noticed that the Math test had several grammar mistakes.

NS - 274 (80, 14 mistakes, many of them stupid mistakes, pressure mistakes, curse Bobby Shen), 2nd place 10th 5A
MA - 292 (58 done, 8 wrong), 2nd place
CA - 251 (66 done, 11 wrong), 2nd place
All of these seconds get frustrating :p
SC - 146 (OUCH), 4th place (surprising)
Total of 53 points, for 5A 10th grade Top Gun.
Congrats on your 1st place in NS, I believe, as well.

Wow congrats to you! I didn't really have a great day in any of the 3 but I was happy to be as close to Ross Coker as I was and to take 1st NS. And then I also got 5th top gun so Ill be getting some scholarship money too (my mom was more excited about that than me). What did you think about the tests, difficulty wise?

Haha yes, silver is nice, but gold is nice as well. Personally, I think silver might look better than gold, but gold sounds the best.
I think four different people got 1st, and someone might have beaten me in a Math event and then Science, but I don't think anyone beat me in more than two, at most.
I know my coach wants to get our teams to improve, but it's hard finding people that we can motivate. I hope I can tell everyone, especially the sophomores and freshmen, that they can become as good as they want to, and it's not necessarily about "smarts", but dedication and hard work, although having the smarts helps. Also, being a bit stricter and demanding more from the students practice-wise would help, and I think that once people start getting good and recognizing that they can beat people, they'll become more motivated and encourage others to join as well.

Yea, I'm looking forward to when Mr.Potter can put up the results. I'd like to see how everyone did across the state. At least for know, we have the Resulter and sevenllamas, which is excellent. Unfortunately, there are still a few Districts left, which can mess up the rankings.
