If only we had a good UIL program... we didn't take anyone to State last year.

I shall defend my 1A companions by simply stating that if I was in 2A, I would be second in the state for number sense and mathematics and I believe first for spelling. Going to a 2A school for my freshman and sophomore years and moving to a 1A my junior year was a weird transition. 2A has been, for lack of a better word, weak since most of New Boston's team left. I think our school is decent in Math considering I am the only one with a TI-89 (school will not buy these calculators, so I bought one myself). It is extremely difficult when you only have two math teachers in your entire school; neither of them wants to be associated with UIL. I couldn't even take AP Calculus and computer science my junior year because I was the only one that signed up (I would've taken it at a school about five miles from here). I begged this year and they eventually let me. I know I'm ranting, but our team is doing pretty well even though I'm the math, number sense, spelling, calculator, and computer science coach, and I'm the only one with a TI-89.

Sigh...every year, every one just keeps on getting better and better. Two years ago, I think the 6th place math score at state was in the 290s. Last year it was in the 320s. This year, the top 6 in districts are well into the 330s :(

Yeah, I know that you all are joking. I guess my rant stems from my dislike of the fact that the majority of schools spend some much more money on sports than academics and one-act play. We have new football and track uniforms every year, but only two teachers for each subject. Oh well. I'm getting off my soapbox now.

Hmmm... I think I have a strong chance to make State in Number Sense, both individually, and definitely as part of the team. I also feel that the calculator,and math teams have a great chance to move on.

My district score was a 185, but I've scored around the 200s on the invatationals. With some tutoring and practicing, I've managed to boost it towards around 220s... But I want to make it go higher.... Stupid brain.

I use the HP33 and TI-85. Best calcs ever! =D

One week until Region guys!
I still have several things I need to do in order to make it to State.

Judging by our City View Regional Qualifier scores, even without looking at statewide competition, I highly believe:

I am still in danger in NS. Team is not going.
I am in great danger in MA. Team is not going.
I am in good position for CA. Team has a possibility at going, wouldn't count on it though.
And we didn't take Science in time to submit for the meet, due to conflicts and stuff.

Remember that wasn't and official UIL test so that accounts for some slight differences (if not major).

Well...YOU'LL still be going...right? I mean, for ns, I looked at the scores, at it looks like you need at least a 300+ to pass regionals, though it's probably lower in our region since the Houston kids aren't here... Math...yeah, you need close to perfect.
