Hello,
I am assuming your son will be going to a middle school in Texas. If so, then the competitions for him are the math and science competitions organized by the TMSCA <>. These competitions are coordinated entirely through the school, and your middle school would need to have a math/science team or club for him to be in these. I would recommend asking around at the school to see if there's any program of the sort; if not, perhaps you could ask the principal or get after the teachers to set up a math/science program.
Just on a side note, this forum is for Academic UIL, which is like the TMSCA competitions, but for high school. So yes, you more or less were in the right place.
