Forum's kinda dead in chit chat...
When do the Region tests get uploaded? Coach was feeling sick so we left without grading or picking up the packets so I don't know if i'll be getting my calculator test anytime soon. I have the math test, but I still need the answer key.

Mine too, I'll start taking tests intensely next week, that means lots of questions. Maybe during the weekend...lots of homework due tomorrow, and i'm supposed to play with the el paso wind symphony tomorrow. I'll see how well i can manage my time...

The CS test is on mike schoot's uil page. but he typically deletes it after state. other than that i dont know if there will be any uploaded.

Usually make around 220 on Calculator. Went to Regionals and made a 157. We missed wild card team for state by 3 questions. Total disappointment.
Anyone have tips on how to keep calm during major meets?

I just feel tired 24/7. Sleep really early, and when you're body screws you over when the test comes, then you won't feel jittery.

My cousin used to pull off an all-nigher before contest and the next day he just boosted with 5 hour shots. Seemed to work fine for him surprisingly, he placed 1st in two events, 2nd in one, and 3rd in another(district). He says he wasn't nervous, probably because he was half asleep, IDK. Haven't tried this, don't think i will, but it might work for someone else...

I would say make sure you get a good amount of sleep. At TMSCA State this year, I ran on 4 hours of sleep, and by the Science test, I could not think at all. My mind was incredibly slow. Luckily, I could take my time on Science so I wasn't under a huge rush.
At Region this year, I got 6 hours, and by Math I was sleepy as well. I would say aim for about 8 or so.

As far as keeping calm... well I don't know what you can do. During NS tests, I can feel myself shaking a bit before the test. That's nerves. I guess experience is the best thing to have during these meets. Keep a calm mind, and make sure you get sleep! After that, I'm not so sure.

And don't sit next to a very awesome person...two of my peeps usually score 185s at meets and I think one or both of them sat next to Amy Kupra from Keller...dropped to a 122 and 136.
They were shocked because Amy was FAST with a TI, no HP as far as I was told.

What I would do is not put that whole thing in at once. I'm assuming with a TI one would do what cruncher says in segments, maybe store the numerator in some cases as X and etc.. Hmm...I should try taking a test with TI and see how it goes. My teammate from last year would do the crunchers in 10 mins using a TI-89 which I think is far harder to go faster on than on a TI 84 variant.

10 min on a TI calc? Nice... I need to make sure I'm solid with the HP. There are only a few weeks until State and I have completely neglected any UIL besides Region review. I definitely need to practice some. I also neglected my AP studies during TAKS week, so I'm going to cram for WHAP and Bio now, with BC cramming being unnecessary. Hopefully I can manage my time wisely enough. I'll be sure to ask a few questions here and there for strange things.

I can get through the NCs in 12 minutes pretty consistently with my TI-84. It helps a lot to be able to store one part of the equation as "A" or whatever and then divide it in as necessary.

And just on a side note, I took the practice Algebra 2 EOC this week. It was quite a bit harder than I thought it was going to be; a lot of my friends really bombed it. I'm interested to see what state passing rates are going to be.

I've heard these EOC's are turning out to be in fact quite difficult compared to the TAKS.

LoL. Our school took a practice EOC about 3 months ago for bio, and the teachers had to add a 15 pt curve.
