AMC Scores?

I know this should be under AMC Forum, but no one ever goes there.

So how did you guys do on AMC 10A/12A? Anyone qualify for AIME? I know the official scores aren't coming back for a few weeks, but you can figure out your score from your test packet/circled answers and the key on <amc.maa.org>

I will be taking mine in a few weeks. For some reason SEM is doing it late. I have neglected my studies recently... so I might need to do a little bit of practice next week for AMC, as this week I'll be preparing for Inv. B.

Then you guys are probably taking AMC 10B/12B...we took the B tests last year. They're really similar, but different problems, and your school picks whichever date it likes better. Good luck!

Based on my test booklet and the answer key, I scored 124.5...could be better, but enough to qualify for AIME.

Well I mean i thought usually amc 12 cutoff was 100
was it harder this yr??

The cutoff for AMC 12 is 100 OR the top 5% of scores, whichever is lower. That way, if the test is relatively hard (as it appears to have been this year), there's still a reasonable number of people taking the AIME.

Similarly, the cutoff for AMC 10 is 120 OR the top 2.5% of scores.

They released the answers, so I'm sure it's okay to talk about it now. Turns out I got a 99... probably should've prepared a bit harder, but I guess I'm not that motivated this year. It's not like I'm going to make USAMO anyways. I'll probably make AIME though, with that score.
