Tie Breaking Rules

I was just wondering about Tie Breaking Procedures. Say I answered all 40 questions on the CS test and got a 192. Another guy also answered 40 questions and got a 192. What would happen? I know Inv. A is insignificant, but what if this happened in state? What would happen if nsguy, rcocker, and Bobby Shen get 391s on the NS test in state?

Normally for Math/Science/CompSci, I think the tiebreak is % Accuracy. I think you just tie after that.

I think in Number Sense and Calculator, the tiebreak goes to whoever missed one later in the test, i.e. , in your example, if Bobby misses # 48 and Wesley misses # 67, Wesley would win the tiebreaker. I am not totally sure if they use that at State, but they use it in my District.

I know in my district and region, the only tiebreaker is % accuracy of problems. If you're still tied after that, you stay tied.

Note: Just went and looked up the official UIL contest rules. For math, % accuracy is the first tiebreaker and then the tie stays unbroken. For all other events, "No ties are to be broken" at all.

Really? I found that only number sense doesn't break any ties. Math and Science break ties through percentages, and Calculator breaks ties through (the obvious) most stated and geometry problems.

Never mind, you're right about those...but NS should not be breaking ties by who missed a problem first.
