well...for proof you can basically just tell how you found it even if its not proper proving you will get a couple more points out of that

so you could get at last 10 or 15

I know...but like I said, when I do USAMTS next year, I'm going to avoid code like the plague--I'm doing it too often (I brute-forced two AMC12 problems on my TI-89 Titanium, three Purple Comet problems using Java, etc., etc.), and I want to actually try being un-sucky at math for once. =D

i sometimes use programs to help me see a pattern

and then solve it mathematically

but i have never submitted a program :)

because i plan on doing it next year if i have time.

Also, how long is each grading period, and typically do you look things up on the internet.

you have a month to solve each round, then it takes about 1 month for the grading to be complete.

I dont look thingsup on the internet (i think that is cheating)
