A golf store has white balls, yellow balls, pink balls, and orange balls. How many different packets of 3 balls can the store package?

The trick for this type of problem is as follows. Count the types of items first. Here, we have 4. Then, add this to the number of items we want, which is 3 in this case, and subtract 1. This gives us 6. Finally, compute (the number we just computed)C(the number of items we want), or 6C3=6*5*4/6=20.
