Hello everyone. This is my first year to do Calculator Applications. I was wondering if anyone could create a list of important formulas that I need to know for the geometry and word problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you:)

Can we work these problems? They are all on the district 1 test for 2010, and I can't read the pdf.

Thanks.

16. An injection molded part costs $0.05 to make, but this cost does not include the $18,000 mold. If the total part cost is held to $0.10, what is the number of parts in the production run?
This is a fancy way of saying,
If it costs $0.05 to make a part with an $18,000 machine, and $0.10 without the machine, how many parts will you have to make for the machine to be worth its cost?
In that case, we need the $0.10-$0.05 benefit per part of using the machine to come out to $18,000. That means [unparseable or potentially dangerous latex formula]
18. What is the percent difference in the unloaded and loaded weight of a Boeing 747 airplane? Its empty weight with fuel is 35,000 lbs. It holds 380 people of average weight 175 lbs, and each person carries on or checks an average of 30 lbs of luggage.
The percent difference is the percentage the change represents relative to the first value.

Here, it says "the percent difference in the unloaded and loaded weight," so since the word "unloaded" actually appears first in the problem, that will be your first value. Naturally, the "loaded" weight is your second value.
