Projectile Help

I can do anything, as long as I have my handy-dandy Calculator.

Projectile Help

Postby moy2414 » Tue Mar 15, 2011 1:59 pm

A projectile's maximum vertical elevation is 57ft and it lands 250ft away. What is the angle of release relative to the ground?

Answer = .739 (Radians)

Can someone walk me through the steps necessary to solve this problem?

max height = 1/4 * tan0 * max range

so, 57= 1/4 * tan0 * 250

then 0= tan-1(4*57/250) = .739 rad
