For calculator tests, there is a set of problems (30 stated and 20 geometry) that are taken from past tests, typically the questions that are missed or skipped the most (typically page four stated problems and page 6/7 geometry problems), to make the study guide. Three stated problems and two geometry problems are taken from this study guide, are changed slightly (typically in numbers), and are used as the last five questions of the test (only for tests that Dr. Bourell, the UIL Calculator Applications Director, had written however). The advantage of the study guide is to do two things; 1) to give people a reason to attempt the last page problems as we have plenty of time to derive a method to answer these questions and 2) to give us techniques or knowledge to answer some other similar questions that might appear throughout the test.
Now I know the stakes, and I'm willing to show what I gots. I will see you all at state for the first and final time, so let's end the year with a bang! :)
