If (x+1)/(x-2) + (x-2)/(x+1) is written as the mixed number A B/C, then B is?
Ans: 9

If (x-1)/(x+3) - (x+2)/(x-4) = (Ax^2 + Bx + C)/(Px^2 + Qx + R), then (A+B+C)/(P+Q+R) equals:
Ans: 1

Willie Cutitt needs to determine the height of a tree before chopping it down. He figures the angle of elevation from a spot on the ground due East of the tree to the top of the tree is 45 degrees and the angle of elevation from a spot 50 feet further East of the tree is 30 degrees. What is the height of the tree?
Ans: 68' 4''.

These three questions were from the 11-12 TMSCA #6.

You would expand it like normal so you'll get 2x^2-2x+5/X^2-x-2 just divide so it'll be 2 and 9/x^2-x-1

think of this as a 60-30-90 triangle, then x is the height and the base is x+50(because of the 45 degrees the height and distance are similer) then x=(x+50)/sq root of 3 multiply by square root of 3 and subtract x to get (sq root of 3 minus 1)x=50 then divide to get 68'-4''
