19. I had read somewhere that a shortcut to the area of a parabola was equivalent to base x height x (2/3). I've tried it and it works for some, but not for this one. What are the cases where this works.

31. A secan, AP, and a tangent, CP intersect in the exterior of a circle. Point B lies on AP and on the circle such that CP=16 and BP = 8. Find AB.
Answer: 24

39. Find the sum of the series [unparseable or potentially dangerous latex formula]
(I know there's a shortcut to these, i just couldn't figure it out)
Answer: 7.389

41. Hope I. Whenn (love these names) throws 3 darts at the square target containing 9 congruent smaller squares. Each dart lands in a different small square. What are the odds that the 3 squares the darts land in are the shaded squares?(4 out of the 9 squares are shaded)
Answer: 1/20

53. Snow White and 6 of her dwarfs are going to sit in the same row at the Bad Apple concert. how many ways can Snow White seat her 6 dwarfs in the row if she is going to sit in the middle?(I got this one by doing 6nCr6 giving me 720, which is the right answer, is this procedure right?)

56. What's the patters in this series: 1+8+27+64+...+729+1000(this isn't the actual question, but i need this part to get the answer)

60. If you have this test it's of a figure made of congruent cubes, which some are missing, and it's asking how many faces are not visible. I think this would take too long of a time, is there at trick to it, or it's just one of those problems meant to make the tester loose time?

19. I'm not sure, but maybe it only works for certain points when you take the integral of the parabola; I am not sure at all, never heard of this. Using your 89 should be fine enough.

31. I believe the product of the length of the two portions of the secant equals the length of the tangent squared.

39. Yes, that's correct.

It's 1/20, not 1/21? That's weird if it's not a typo...

53. Yea, you can basically ignore the middle, and do 6P1 = 720. I don't know what you mean by 6nCr6.

56. Those are the cubes... NS ftw.

60. I used to see these on the Math TAKS tests all the time. All you have to do is count the missing amount on each level then add them up. I'm pretty sure there is no trick or anything to it. It can definitely be done within 10-15 sec, including reading the question.

For 41. that's what i did when i took the test, but the answer key says 1/20. I think so too, it might be a typo, but then i looked for it in the corrections and comments on the uil page, and apparently nothing was reported, so i'm not sure.
For 53. sorry i meant nPr(6,6), which is how i do permutations on 89.
For 56 i can see it now, over thought about it. Thanks
