There are both complex solutions and a real solution (-2). I would just cube each answer choice in my 89 to find out.
If it gives an answer choice of cis(x), know that [unparseable or potentially dangerous latex formula]. I see that sometimes, although I doubt it's on this problem.

well i wrote it exactly that is exactly what it says which of the following is the cube root of -8

B)-2i
C)-1+square root of 3 time i
D)-1-square root of 3 time i
E)1-square root of 3 time i

Well, we know it isn't A or B. Cube C,D,and E and see which one gives -8.
