Another question that I usually skip are the probability questions like the mathematical expectation questions. Do you guys have any tips for me on these type of questions?

The Mathematical expectation questions are usually one of the easiest questions, so once you learn how to do a couple of those problems, you should be set.

As for probability questions, you just need to be exposed to as many different types of questions as possible. Try as many as you can, and if you are having trouble, ask for help. Once you understand, then problems just like it should be a breeze for you.

As for the mathematicians, I don't know exactly where you can find all the information needed. I would say make sure you know the background of each person (nationallity, major/specialized field, university they went to, and so on), know their major achievements, and know what they are known for and what major contribution to Math/Science/Computer Science did each person do (if not already said in their major achievements).

How do I do this?

I know that a geometric sequence share a common ratio and I have tried to make a system of equations to find a, but the calculator won't let me b/c it isn't a "linear system" which is caused by the ratio. How else can I attempt this?
