I missed #2 because obviously 100/4=24 remainder 2

sigh...

i got numbers 1,3,4,7,12,13...could have had an 8 but sadly....i died

I just took AIME (#2) yesterday, so I don't have my scores yet. I'm not expecting anything much...my AMC12 performance was pretty subpar, so I'll be happy with whatever on the AIME.

If that answer sheet is right and I correctly remembered my solutions (I didn't think to write them down...hah), it looks like I got a 7, with {2,3,4,5,6,7,12} right, {1,8,10,11,13} wrong, and {9,14,15} skipped. Better than I expected, really...quite a bit better.

the usamo qualifiers will come out around April 6th

so around then, they will mail the results to all of the schools

hmm...i got an 8 which seriously worries me because there are many people i have talked to that believe the floor for the AIME II might be a 9, even though this seems unreasonable after the expansion.

to anybody that took the AIME II, how many people at your school took it? i think klein had like...12 or 13.

Lubbock High School had a group of four take the AIME, all active UILers (me, Darci Barney, Kiefer Aguilar, and George Huang).

it has really good problems and gives you something to do during the boring math class at school

it is over for this year, but next year it will probably start up around september

I was going to do it this year (I enjoy the problems too), but I missed the first deadline...I think college apps were due that week or something, lol.

i didnt do round 1 either...but i still did round 2,3,4

you can start whenever you want to

However, if you miss round 1 it is impossible to qualify for the AIME through USAMTS

Oh, I remember now...I have a question about the AIME II, question 13.

[SPOILER WARNING: don't look/highlight below if you're planning to take the AIME II for practice later]
I got that you can work it out by Pascal's Triangle's 11th row with each number mod 3, eliminating the terms with coefficients which were multiples of three...I just got four terms left over and decided that you multiply 2^7 by 4 because exactly three boxes had to be one to make the top a multiple of three, completely forgetting that having zero of them would, too =D. My question is this...is zero a multiple of three, by formal definition? Your answer agrees that it is, and it seems logical if you a multiple of x as x times any integer including zero...I just wanted to make sure for future reference, so I don't have to hesitate about it in the future. Thanks in advance.

ok, 0 is multiple of 3, but not a positive multiple of 3....however this problem does not stipulate...

now in this problem if 0 was not a multiple of 3 the answer would be 639 (only 1 case when they all are 0) but if it does not stipulate POSITIVE then 0 will work

I spent about an hour on a problem and didn't get the right answer.

I quit USAMTS for the year..

lol, i spent like a week on Round 4 number 2...i didnt get anywhere...

i missed round 1 (as previously stated) but hopefully i got bronze...(need a 17 on round 4)
